Available Roles

Event Coordinator

Manage the operational backbone of the hackathon, from venue setup to food delivery. When something goes wrong day-of, we'll rely on you to help sort it out.

Key Responsibilities:

  • • Secure and coordinate venue, equipment, and catering
  • • Work with volunteers to manage check-ins and schedules
  • • Handle day-of logistics and ensure smooth execution

Ideal For:

Someone detail-oriented, proactive, and resourceful who thrives in fast-paced environments.

Social Media & Marketing Director

Own the online presence and energy of Get Ship Done: Boston. From launch announcements to live updates, you'll shape how participants and the community experience the event.

Key Responsibilities:

  • • Create promotional materials and posts leading up to the event
  • • Design and distribute flyers
  • • Capture and share key moments during the hackathon

Ideal For:

Someone creative with experience in social media growth or digital campaigns.

Developer

Build the technical infrastructure that keeps Get Ship Done running smoothly. This isn't just vibe coding—we need functional systems that work under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • • Build and maintain the event website and registration system
  • • Set up and manage databases for participants and submissions
  • • Troubleshoot technical issues leading up to and during the hackathon

Ideal For:

Someone organized and full-stack capable who loves turning ideas into working systems.

Artist

Create the eye-catching visuals that make Get Ship Done memorable. From website graphics to social media content, your designs will be the face of our event.

Key Responsibilities:

  • • Design logos and images for website
  • • Coordinate with Social Media Director for visual content
  • • Create promotional materials and merchandise designs

Ideal For:

Someone who loves art and has design experience. Digital art preferred, but we'd love to see your unique style!

Recruiter

Help us find the people who make Get Ship Done possible—from judges and speakers to sponsors and volunteers.

We're Looking For:

  • • Professional volunteers to judge
  • • Experts in tech to come as guest speakers
  • • Overnight chaperones
  • • Sponsors who want to support our educational mission

Ideal For:

Someone with strong networking skills who can connect with professionals and build relationships.

Volunteer Hours Available
